Course overview
This course is intended for all personnel operating offshore who need to be able to provide elementary first aid on board. It provides an introduction to the basic principles of first aid and explains how to respond to the most common medical emergencies.
The standard course is in Italian.
Also, English version could be provided, on request, TBC.

4 hours.

None.

Course contents
The course focuses on the following elements (theory and practice):
• assessment of needs of casualties and threats to own safety;
• basic knowledge of body structure and functions;
• understanding of immediate measures to be taken in cases of emergency;
• positioning of the casualty and apply resuscitation techniques;
• control of bleeding;
• apply appropriate measures of basic shock management;
• apply appropriate measures in event of burns and scalds, including accidents caused by electric current
• rescue and transportion of a casualty;
• improvisation of bandages and use of materials in emergency kit.

Certificate
Certification for Elementary first aid will be issued on successful getting through the training programme.
